My name is Marlo Arnold, CEO of EMJ Estate Sales. My passion for repurposing began in childhood, inspired by weekend visits to Act II on Harlem Road in the 1970s. What started as a love for unique treasures grew into a lifelong commitment to helping others uncover value in the items that tell their stories.
I partnered with my sister’s family-owned estate sale business in Virginia, where I devoted countless weekends to hands-on learning across every facet of the industry. This journey took me to Martha’s Vineyard, Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia, and Palm Harbor, Florida—each location deepening my understanding of estate sale operations and client care.
As an apprentice, I immersed myself in the essential elements of the business: historical artifacts, customer support, pricing strategy, floor and front desk management, staging, and the heartfelt impact these services can have on families during times of transition. My formal training, guided by the American Estate Sale Counsel in North Carolina, further sharpened my skills and knowledge.
In 2024 alone, I led 34 estate sales as Project Lead—an experience that affirmed both my leadership and dedication to excellence. I’ve since returned to Western New York with a passionate team of seasoned professionals, ready to guide clients through a seamless, respectful, and rewarding estate sale process.
